About Nicholaus Goossen
Grandson of a renown LAPD homicide detective and son of a Hall of Fame corner man, Nicholaus Goossen grew up in his family’s San Fernando Valley based boxing business, “Ten Goose Boxing". Rather than pursuing the family trade, he ventured into the world of filmmaking at a young age, with his first onscreen credit coming at the age of seventeen for the Brendan Fraser led indie “The Twilight of the Golds”. It was his internship in the camera department on the set of the 1997 New Line feature film, “The Wedding Singer", that led to Goossen's multi-decade relationship with Adam Sandler and his production company Happy Madison.
At the age of twenty six, Nicholaus directed his first feature film for Sandler’s company, the cult classic “Grandma’s Boy”, distributed by 20th Century Fox. His sophomore movie, “The Shortcut”, is a little-seen thriller that had a small VOD release via Anchor Bay Entertainment. His third feature, “Drugstore June”, which he also co-wrote, was released theatrically via Shout Studios! / Utopia, and is now streaming on Hulu. Most recently, Goossen served as 2nd Unit Director on the highly anticipated sequel “Happy Gilmore 2” for Netflix, once again fulfilling this duty for Sandler and the streamer, as he did before on 2021’s “Hustle”.
Nicholaus has been active in the world of television as a writer, producer, and director with credits such as: “Adam Sandler - “Love You”, “Sugar & Toys”, “The Story of Our Times”, “Adam Sandler - 100% Fresh”, “Typical Rick”, “Nikki Glaser - Bangin”, and “Hot For My Name”. He also has an extensive body of work in advertising, working with major brands like Planet Fitness, Vitaminwater, Forever 21, and a Cleo for his work with the cannabis brand CANN. Goossen has also produced, edited, and directed several hit music videos. Julian Casablancas, Bhad Bhabie, Ke$ha, Dirt Nasty, Kool Keith, and Diplo are among some of the artists he’s collaborated with.
